Students learn in different ways. Some by hearing, some by seeing or reading, but some students need to work with their hands to learn. The trend is to go digital, but we are finding that many students learn better when they can hold a copy of what they are learning in their hand and write directly on it. I want to be able to locate resources and have them to hand out to my students so that they can mark them up and learn in their own style. My students tend to be more successful when they can hold on to a resource and make it their own. The printer/copy paper and toner will allow me to pull resources for entire classes or even individual students. The pencils are to make sure that each student has something to write with on these resources.
