Pharmacy Technician Clinical Supplies

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from a low-income/high poverty school district. Most of my students live in areas of high crime in homes that are destitute. Despite those challenges they come to school prepared to learn. They love hands-on experiences and it helps them to better grasp the concepts of the lessons they are learning.

The students who attend my class are pursuing their career in healthcare.

They take their core subjects at one school and travel back and forth to mine.

My Project

The materials on my list will be used in our lab. These students are preparing for national testing to obtain certification and licensing as Registered Pharmacy Technicians. Most of the students are planning on using their certification to assist in paying for college.

These materials will be used for hands on training.

The weigh paper, gelatin capsules, and droppers will be used in their compounding practicals. The concepts that the students need to master in order to pass their certification test are mastered when they have hands-on examples of what they are reading about. Videos are great but clinical practice is better and student retention is higher.
