Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!
My class consists of a diverse group of learners.
My class has 26 second grade students of varying abilities. The socio-economic background of our students is reflected by our 97% free or reduced-price lunch rate.
I teach in an urban inner city school rich with diversity. Most of my students need additional learning materials to meet grade level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!
My Project
My students are energetic learners. They enjoy learning about the world around them. They come to school eager to learn!
Having multi colored folders will allow my students a way to stay organized with each subject.
They will use Red portfolios for Math. Green portfolios for Science. Blue portfolios for Writing and Yellow Portfolios for Reading materials. Keeping things color coded will help keep them organized and ready to learn!
We need pencils to be able to show our work throughout the day. I’ve chosen motivational pencils with sayings on them to help motivate my reluctant learners. Giving a pencil as a reward for a good job shows a student their success is being recognized. I also chose motivational stickers to help show how excited I am that my students did well on an activity. Everyone likes a little token of recognition and kids are no different! A special sticker on top of a paper signals that the work was well done.
All of these items are items I usually purchase for my classroom. My students are not able to purchase these items for themselves so I buy them when I can but supplying things for 26 students can be very costly. Thank you for helping me to get these items for my students so they can continue reaching for the stars!
