Peace and Quiet

Help me give my students items to make our art room more relaxing!

My Students

I teach art to a wide range of amazing children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Their skill levels vary greatly. Most students are from low-income homes with limited resources for luxuries such as art supplies. We live in a small, rural community with no art museum. I am privileged to be able to offer art experiences to children. It warms my heart each time I see a student excited to come to art because they love being creative, expressing themselves, and experimenting in the art room.

Like great artwork, each child is different and special in his or her own way.

The excitement in their eyes when they see their art supplies for the day is priceless. Each masterpiece they create is full of value. My students make me proud to be called "art teacher" (some students think that's my real name).

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

My Project

Our art studio is a place of safety, creativity, inspiration, and learning the economics associated with an art career.

During this pandemic, my students have been in much need of all that art and our wonderful studio provides to help us create meaningful art and expand our financial literacy.

Your donation can help to improve our space even more!

We need chair leg covers to help with the noise and distractions caused by our squeaky chairs. We also need curtain rods and blackout shades to optimize our art environment when we create using black lights and fluorescent art-making materials.

I want to provide a calm, relaxing space for my students to create and better understand how to turn their passion into a career. Your generosity would make it possible to improve their art experience greatly!
