This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my social skills classroom, I believe growth should be colorful, not complicated. That’s where Kwik Sticks come in to play; clean, easy paint sticks that keep creativity flowing without the mess or stress. My students with autism often benefit from structured, predictable materials that reduce sensory overload, and Kwik Sticks provide exactly that. Their solid, mess-free design supports fine motor development by encouraging a stable grasp, controlled strokes, and hand strength without the frustration of brushes, water cups, or spills. This will allow my students to stay engaged in art-based tasks longer and build confidence through successful, independent participation.

Kwik Sticks also create natural opportunities for social and language development during group art activities.

Students practice important communication skills such as requesting colors, sharing materials, asking for help, and commenting on peers’ work in a meaningful, real-time context. Because the materials are simple and easy to use, students can focus more on interacting with one another rather than managing supplies, which increases opportunities for turn-taking, collaboration, and positive peer engagement. Through guided art projects, Kwik Sticks help students strengthen expressive language, build social connections, and develop the confidence to participate alongside their peers.
