My Students

Our scholars come from an urban low socioeconomic area. We are the ELL program school for our town. We get new students throughout the year who are new to the country and many times have not been exposed to English.

These kids have grit and heart.

They look out for one another. Despite their various challenges, they come to school every day​ and give their best. They deserve the best rather than hand-me-downs. My students flourish in hands-on, collaborative activities.

My Project

This school year is unlike any other. Covid continues to disrupt learning. We hope to get a Calendly premium subscription to make it easier to schedule appointments with students, families, and colleagues to stay connected. This program will sync with our google calendar and classroom. We'll be able to schedule meetings for varying lengths of time with different groupings of people. Small groups will be easier to schedule. Parents can also request meetings. Meetings can be requested based on my availability and those requesting the meeting can describe why they want to meet. I'll be able to meet and support all of my diverse STEAM students. I'll also be able to send follow up resources directly through this program.

Padlet is a great tool for brainstorming and collaborating whether we are in person or remote.

It supports learning both synchronously and asynchronously. With the premium subscription, we would be able to make unlimited padlets to support our learning rather than be limited to 3 padlets.
