My students are part of the modern media communications magnet program. We specialize in integrating 21st-century skills within our math and science curriculum. One project we are working on is kid blogging and publishing student work into text. With a diverse magnet population, our sixth-grade team serves students from East, South, North, and West Los Angeles. We are excited to partner with local media industries in our community to help bring learning to life. Through relevant programming, children are challenged and engaged to participate in written, and oral communication.

My Project
My students are extremely hard workers. I would like to include fun games, and incentives in class to help motivate them in their daily activities. The stamp pads will be used to stamp their math homework everyday. Currently my stamp pads are dried out and do not work properly. The stickers will be used to award peer tutors that assist students in the class. Often times students receive award tickets to redeem at the office, I would like to also reward students with these cute stickers! The candy is used as an incentive for good behavior, or participation in class. I will also give the candy to students that need a snack during the break. Our class is two hours long, and I give students a 6-8 minute break between math and science class. Sometimes students get hungry and do not have snack to munch on.
The 2022 year will start off with a bang having all these engaging, yummy, and intriguing rewards for my students!
Learning can be so fun, having rewards are helpful to increase engagement, especially in the middle school classroom.
