My Students

Singing, dancing, jumping, laughing, and learning are a few verbs that describe the welcoming atmosphere you will see daily in our classroom. Our ParentAware, four-star rated Pre-kindergarten classroom has been running for 16 years and is ready for updated materials and furnishings.

The amazing children in our classroom deserve clean, high-quality educational materials that are visually appealing and safe to use daily.

Eight-three percent of the students at my building qualify for free or reduced lunch. One of the honors I have, as the lead teacher, is that I get to collaborate with the families of our students. I get to help ensure their child’s first experience in school is a positive one! Many of my students are English language learners, I work to incorporate their home languages into our environment and routines. Our young students have the opportunity to learn through play and guided discoveries both inside and outside. From day one, all of our students learn mindful strategies for understanding their emotions, handling disappointments and disagreements. We do this by using games, solution kit cards, a breathing ball, a chime, role-playing, and lots of practice of course.

My Project

Laughing, smiling, running, jumping, the cones are for weaving and spots are for counting. Scarves are for juggling and tape is for balancing. When the doorbell rings, it's time to come in. Put your toys in a disinfectant bin. I know we have to go.

These are a few of our favorite things that we need to help our students maintain social distance this fall!

When Covid struck, we felt stuck, we couldn't hug our friends. Summer vacations ruined, shopping with family, and snuggling with Grammy. All of this stopped and we still need to learn what schools all about this fall! We wash our hands more, we can't hold the door, we must take it slow, when we really want to go. Please help us find some new ways we can play at our favorite school. (Sung to the tune: My Favorite Things)
