This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a low income, high poverty school, but our kids are THE BEST! They love learning new things, especially hands-on learning. We want our students to be lifelong learners, and every subject can be taught in a school garden. Thank you bunches!

We have a school garden that our students LOVE being a part of.

Our goal is to include our students in gardening AND providing healthy foods for them to take home and share with their families.

My Project

Our school garden has become something that all of our students (and teachers!) love. Right now, we don't have tools or gloves for the students to use so they can help harvest the vegetables. I feel that they would get more out of our lessons if it were more hands on. We want them to be excited about gardening, learning where their food comes from, which insects help or hurt a garden, and taking care of their environment. We would also love a compost bin so we won't be wasteful.

Our garden is definitely a labor of love.

But our students constantly ask to go out to see it and love exploring there.
