Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is my second year teaching, and I am so exited to get to know my students! This year I have the opportunity to work with Pre-K, and I couldn’t be any happier. I love working with younger children because they are so full of life and eager to learn. Since most of my students have not been in school before, I have the chance to instill the love of learning in them. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us!

My Project

We are in need of a new carpet for our classroom. The classroom carpet is the focal point of where most of our learning takes places. It all begins when we start our day with our morning circle routine. Morning circle is a safe and inviting space for students to discuss whatever they would like. Many students open up during this time and share some things that might be bothering them. We also use this time get to know each other better by playing games and sharing about our lives. This makes the transition easier for the students as they go from morning circle in a safe environment to learning their academics for the rest of the day.
