Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a remarkable group of third graders in the Bronx. I have actors, singers, artists, painters, mathematicians, and authors. We serve a high need community, and my third graders expressed an interest in enhancing the school environment.

We are all ready for the new school year--pencils and notebooks in hand--but we don't have anywhere to put our supplies! My students don't have desks. Instead, they sit in their individual seats at group tables. Their chairs don't have any place to put their notebooks or pencils. Our classroom is also in need of a pencil sharpener.

That's where you come in! We need your help to put a seat sack on each seat in the classroom. If each child has a seat sack, we can have our supplies handy when we need them. That would give us a great boost to start of a fantastic school year!

Your help will ensure that my students can work effectively with their school supplies close at hand. You can make it possible for those pencils to be super sharp when they are placed in their brand-new seat sacks! By helping our class get the supplies they need, you can set us up to succeed in third grade!
