My students need room dividers, so that we can better accommodate 3 to 7 small instrumental or vocal groups working on separate pieces of music at once within our one small music room.

My Students
New schools have the potential to create a culture of excellence for our young people—a safe place where they can freely explore their strengths and learn to make an impact. Music is one of the best ways to engage students in learning, and our school is beginning to build an arts department.
Our students come from a variety of social, financial, and racial backgrounds.
Since the local public district is not expanding to fit the exploding population, our K-8 charter was created to accommodate students who are used to severely overcrowded public classrooms with crisis-level financial deficits. We have an extremely diverse population of kids, many of whom excel academically, and many who are begging for one-on-one experience with a teacher who can show them that they are indeed capable, gifted, and needed in this world.
Our school seeks to show kids, many of whom come from difficult backgrounds, that they can make a difference, that they are capable of change, that they can excel, and that there are teachers willing to give all of their energy to promote kids' individual, unique abilities in order to raise up young people who have a positive impact on our world.
My Project
Our K-8 school has one music room that houses K-3 General Music, 4th Grade Recorder Class, and one class each of Middle School Stage Choir and Middle School Orchestral Strings.
In order to best accommodate the wide span of musical ability in our recorder, choir, and 6-8 grade strings classes, our students often work in small chamber ensembles on separate pieces of music.
However, in such a tight space, it is often very aurally difficult for the kids to hear themselves and/or concentrate.
For some time now, our students have been begging for room dividers so they can rehearse more efficiently.
