My Students

Students in my school come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, and with a wide range of learning abilities as well. My students are 4th graders, and our school is a neighborhood school in a small, suburban community. Our school has Kindergarten through 5th grade students in it, and we have a considerable number of military families in our school.

In my classroom, I have military kids, students from single-parent families, students with special needs and learning disabilities, as well as students that are academically gifted.

It truly is a "melting pot" in my classroom!

My Project

In 4th grade, we engage students in numerous writing/literacy projects that will equip them with the proper skills needed to write essays, compose poetry, create books, and much more. In order to prepare them to be successful in our technology-driven society, we use our iPads that we have in our classroom, as well as the computers in the computer lab.

My students need more iPads in our classroom, so they can work together in partners and small groups, utilizing their technology skills.

Right now, we need 1 more iPad, in order to have one iPad for each set of 2 students. This allows them to work in partners to create books, projects, and peer edit their writing. We also need keyboards for all of our iPads in our classroom.
