Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students live fast lives between making it to school by 7:30 and out to the soccer field at 3:30 or working late at their jobs. Popular snacks that are sold at coffee shops and train platforms are notoriously salty and sugary with very low proportions of protein and nutrients. Many of the students come to school sincerely hungry with little understanding of what kinds of food will satisfy their body's craving for nutrition.
Creating habits of good nutrition are essential for them to make it for the long run.
Chomps are 100% grass fed beef with no added chemicals or sugar. The Clif Bars offer a plant based protein option. Almost weekly, someone in my classroom reaches for the "Hello Kitty" First Aid kit. While it is nice to have superhero bandaids, simply having some natural quiet skin tone bandaids will be a great compliment to their big beautiful lives.
