This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a school nurse who oversees two elementary school sites. At one of my nurse's office this year, we are in of a new mini refrigerator. The previous mini refrigerator stored in the nurse's office stop working 3 months ago. The next closest refrigerator is in the staff's lounge, which is a distance from the nurse's office. A new refrigerator in the nurse’s office will help me not take the trip to the staff lounge for ice pack and allow me to remain in the nurse’s office to continue to triage and observe students without being pull away.

The refrigerator will be used to store numerous items that is required to be cold.

Ice pack, medications, and snacks are among some of the items that are important to properly care for my students. At the elementary school level, we give out a lot of ice packs to students for bumps and bruises. Snacks are also store in the refrigerator to give to students who may be hungry, and for student’s medication such as diabetic insulin. With your donation and support, a new mini refrigerator in the nurse's office, will allow me to better serve my amazing students.
