My Project

These novels, if we are able to get them, will be used for my 7th grade students in reading class. We are doing a new unit next year seeking to better understand poetry, and are including a novel in verse. This novel is set during the Civil Rights Movement and is about a young African American girl who dreams of becoming a writer.

My students would greatly benefit from reading the novel Brown Girl Dreaming and learning about the Civil Rights Movement and about developing identity.

I would greatly appreciate being able to offer this opportunity to them as they grow and mature during their middle school years. Thank you for considering donating.
