My Project

My students love playing a wide variety of games in music class. Not only do we play music related games for content related study, but we also use games as a reward for positive classroom behavior.

Social emotional skills can be taught in many different ways in the music classroom.

I like to use games as a vehicle to show kids that taking turns, being patient, and showing happiness for our friends when something goes their way are positive, amazing things to do!

The games in this project help with this goal. I said earlier that we use the games as motivation for good behavior. That can come in the form of an end of class mini game. Additionally, after demonstrating positive behavior over several sessions, classes can be rewarded with a “game day,” which is extremely popular. These games and supplies will be added to our collection, and will be used and loved by hundreds of kids!
