This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The resources I am asking for is 1 NOCSAE Approved certified catcher's chest protector.

The catcher's chest protector is a new piece of equipment that now has extra padding to protect the heart, making it much safer for the catcher, protecting against sudden cardiac arrest.

As of January 1, 2020, most leagues and organizations will require catchers to use a NOCSAE chest protector. NOCSAE is an organization that sets safety standards for products. With the occurrences of catchers getting struck in the chest with a baseball and having their heartbeat knocked out of rhythm, (known as Commotio Cordis) there has been increased concern with the safety provided by a standard baseball chest protector.

My students are just starting to get back into playing after 4 years away because of Covid and I want to make sure they have all the proper safety equipment.

My season is starting very shortly and we need this equipment ASAP. I am hoping the donors can make this happen. Thank you for supporting this important project.
