My Project

The students I work with typically have challenging behaviors at school due to experiencing traumatic events in their lives such as homelessness, living in foster care, being separated from parents due to drug and alcohol treatment, prison, and death.

My students need to earn play time by having safe behavior, doing their school work, following the rules, and treating others respectfully.

However, this play time also provides opportunities to build positive supportive relationships with adults at school, teaches them how to play appropriately with peers, and keeps them off of screens.
