Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students are at school seven hours a day, five days a week. I am extremely saddened when a student can not focus and learn due to an empty, grumbling stomach. My desire is to keep a continuous selection of snacks and drinks readily available for hungry students.

Over the months, I have witnessed firsthand, the difference that snacks make in the students' mood and disposition to learn.

Food is an essential safety net. I want to ensure that my classroom is a safe place for students to grow, learn, and be happy.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
