I would like to make Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" accessible to my high-need, low income, multicultural 9th graders. I teach English with emphasis on literacy and preparing for college.

The school lacks the resources for editions of Shakespeare that include modern translations, and each year, I grab my students' interest when I teach them to translate Shakespeare into modern English and connect it to their lives.

A set of 74 copies of No Fear Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" offers a captivating, kid-friendly modern side-by-side translation that my 9th grade students need to read to overcome the challenge of comprehending Shakespeare.

In addition to using this book in our study of Shakespeare and literacy, we would also incorporate acting out the play. Your donation will not only help students comprehend Shakespeare, but to the point where they can act it out to their peers. By reading this book, 9th graders will be able to understand one of the greatest playwrights of all time.
