My Project

Hello! My name is John Kellogg, and I am a teacher at Grants Pass High School. I teach a class called Video Games as Literature, and we have a set of 4 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.

This Donors Choose is to get 11 more consoles to get a class set of 15 total consoles, and the supplies to keep them running.

Most of the games I use the Switches for our 2 players, so 15 allows me to have a class size of 30 with no problems. I am also requesting the game Pokemon Pokopia, controllers for backup, mounts for the walls, and some more outlets for the new power that will be needed. This is a moonshot project, but I am going to do my best to make it happen for my students.

This will allow me to expand my Video Games as Literature class with Nintendo centric games in my classroom and make my one-of-a-kind classroom have an even stronger resource of games for student to analyze narratives and characters we didn’t previously have access to.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
