Watching a Super Smash Bros. or Mario Kart match on this screen makes the game feel larger than life, and it has brought an amazing energy to our class that you can feel the moment students walk in.\r\n\r\nWith this setup, I've been able to turn our single-screen gaming area into a true multiplayer hub. Students can now compete side-by-side, collaborate during tournaments, and celebrate each other's progress in a shared, exciting space. It's not just about playing games, it's about teamwork, communication, and connecting through something they're passionate about. The mobility of the stand also means we can move the setup to different parts of campus for events and competitions, helping our esports program become a visible and proud part of our school community.\r\n\r\nYour support made this possible, and I can't thank you enough for the impact it's had on my students. You've helped create a space where learning feels fun, engaging, and full of connection. This was my very first Donors Choose project, and it felt like Christmas when I got the email that it was funded! Each time a box arrived with my new supplies, I was giddy with excitement. :-) \r\n\r\nThis project focused on basic classroom supplies that my students use (and need) on a regular basis. It is shocking to me how many students arrive to school each day without basic supplies like pencils, pens, and highlighters. Though I purchase these myself each fall, my supply runs out quickly. Being able to offer these new materials to my students was immensely helpful. The addition of post-its, markers, and dry erase markers as well allowed for more interactive and visually appealing classroom activities and information. \r\n\r\nIn this project, I also asked for bandaids and applesauce pouches. My students ask for bandaids very regularly, so I have already used several of these. Perhaps the most difficult request I receive is that of food. I know that many of my students do not have the privilege of full cupboards at home, and even the gift of a small applesauce packet has brought great smiles from my students, one in particular, which has been amazing. Being able to offer these small items during class also allows me to keep my students in class more (instead of sending them to the office for their needs), so they can focus on their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1743691774479,"projectUrl":"project/basic-classroom-needs/9147388/","projectTitle":"Basic Classroom Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Albertson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3206859_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y96&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741458052069","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3206859"},{"teacherId":4246399,"projectId":9112567,"letterContent":"I run a very unique class called Video Games as Literature.
