My students are in an urban setting with a wide range of backgrounds. We love to learn and play together every day. These students deserve the world, and I love sharing it with them each day. I teach a third grade classroom with eight- and nine-year-olds who are ready to learn.
They are striving to do their best in the less than wonderful situation of hybrid learning.
These little humans are so very resilient, and they see the world through rose colored glasses.
My students in 3rd grade are reading in order to learn facts about their worlds! Nonfiction is something that is relatively new to these students this year. Many readers don't read a lot of nonfiction until they get to third grade as they were previously immersed in stories. We will be researching and writing our own "Who Would Win" books, so what better way to get into the format of animal discovery than to read about them! These books will be for 3rd graders to broaden their home libraries with high quality, high interest nonfiction books.
