Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year has been a brand new beginning. I’ve been setting up a 7th grade Social Studies classroom from scratch at a brand new school, and I want to build a space where students feel inspired, engaged, and ready to explore the world around them. In addition to teaching Social Studies, I’ve also been leading a reading intervention class where I will need various resources to support literacy growth, as well as a comic book creation club where students will need art supplies, blank journals for sketching and planning, and graphic novels to spark inspiration and creativity.

What I love most about 7th graders is their curiosity, their growing awareness of the world, and their desire to connect learning to real life.

The materials I’m requesting; including a laminator, blank drawing journals, Ziplock bags for organizing classroom materials and student projects, and a variety of art supplies will help me create interactive lessons, preserve reusable resources, and give students meaningful opportunities to express their understanding creatively.

With your support, I can turn a brand new classroom into a vibrant learning environment and give students an artistic outlet that nurtures both creativity and connection. Thank you for helping us start this new year strong!
