Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm switching from general education ELA classes to Special Day Class (SDC) ELA and social studies. They'll be the same students in both so I want to bridge the two together. Eg; In U.S. and World History talk about World War II and the holocaust and read They Call Us Enemy in English class.

Talk about the Great Depression in social studies and read of Mice and Men in English.

To do this, I need some new books. These won't be enough for the entire year but they'll be a good start and will be helpful.
