My Project

A Cozy Classroom Rug for Learning and Community

My first-grade students spend a large part of their day learning together on the classroom floor.

Whether we are gathered for morning meetings, read-alouds, phonics lessons, math discussions, or social-emotional learning activities, our classroom rug serves as the heart of our learning community.

Unfortunately, our current rug is worn and no longer provides a comfortable, inviting space for students. A new classroom rug would give my students a clean, safe, and welcoming area where they can collaborate, learn, and build meaningful relationships with their classmates.

Many of my students learn best when they are actively engaged in lessons on the carpet. A durable classroom rug will help create an organized learning environment, provide designated seating spaces, and make whole-group instruction more effective.
