It was as if a spark had been lit. Students who had previously struggled to find books they connected with suddenly couldn't put these down. The humor, relatable characters, and diary-style format drew them in, and before long, they were racing to read the next book in the series.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, this was the first time they found joy in reading independently. I've seen students who once hesitated to pick up a book now choosing to spend their free time immersed in the world of Greg Heffley. They laugh out loud, talk about the characters with their friends, and even write their own \"diary-style\" stories, inspired by what they've read. This kind of enthusiasm is every teacher's dream.\r\n\r\n\r\nOn behalf of myself and every eager reader in my class, thank you. They have came in so useful. We have been able to use them to have reading groups that are flexible and able to move out in the hall, to small rooms and all over the room as needed. The students love the stools and being able to go get one to work with at partner at their desk, or complete and activity with someone at their desk. The ease of being able to pick them up and move them around have been wonderful. My volunteers have loved them as well because they have been able to use them to add more students to reading groups and sometimes complete and test with more children at one time. I also had constant water bottle spills and we went through so many rolls of paper towels cleaning up all the spills. \r\n Additionally if students do not drink enough water they often complain of headaches so rather than ban waterbottles, I did the donors choose and you so graciously supplied me with enough water bottle holders for everyone and it was such a blessing to not have water spilled all over my room and near computers again. I thank you so much! In fact it did not hit me how valuable they were until the last week of class when I was packing away things little by little and took them off the desk to pack for the summer and had spill after spill again until we ran out of papertowels!
