My students can often become overwhelmed and need time to distress or unwind. This swing would benefit not just one but all of my students. They would have time to use the swing and decompress so they can get their brain ready to learn. The sensory swing can be very versatile within the classroom. When my students have independent reading, they would have the ability to read in the swing. This extra sensory stimulation would benefit their learning. I like to describe sensory stimulation as the following. Sensory stimulation is like scratching an itch that needs to be scratched. The individuals may experience discomfort or be uncomfortable reading in a standard chair, so if the students had the option to read in the sensory swing this could greatly impact their learning.
