This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In AP English Language and Composition, students study the art of rhetoric. It is important for them to read various arguments whether in the form of a speech, news article, or book. I have chosen these specific books because they are all excellent examples of what it looks like to make an effective argument.

Additionally, the AP Language exam requires students to write three essays.

One of these is an argumentative essay in which they must come up with evidence on the spot to support their argument.

Reading these books would give students background knowledge on many different important issues in the world, and aid them in identifying the rhetorical situation.
