Oklahoma! was a big hit for our audiences as well as for our performers. \r\n\r\nSince our students started with zero tap dance experience, I taught them some basic fundamental tap steps once their new shoes arrived. After a few practices, we were able to put those steps into sequences, and finally into full blown choreography for the \"Kansas City\" scene. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching students this choreography and watching their faces light up every time they accomplished a new step. They all worked really hard and by showtime, they were dancing wonderfully as an ensemble. Listening to their taps go from a cacophony of sounds to an ensemble in unison was so fun to witness.\r\n\r\nTap is not a style we typically get to teach in our theater and dance programs. However, now that we have these fantastic shoes as a resource, students will get to have this as an option for years to come. Thank you so much again for your donation that made this experience possible for me and these students!","fullyFundedDate":1766690167027,"projectUrl":"project/help-students-come-dancing-down-the-plai/9854842/","projectTitle":"Help Students Come Dancing Down the Plains in Oklahoma!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lower","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8308807_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1666732151530","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8308807"},{"teacherId":7375108,"projectId":9423704,"letterContent":"Winning a laminator and printer through DonorsChoose has been a true gift to my classroom.
