This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my students' desires to do things, their eagerness to learn, and the beauty of their innocence. I enjoy seeing them happy feeling welcome and secure in the classroom and I like them to feel love.

What makes them special?

Everything makes them special to be with us and learn to sing and dance and learn new things, new ways to express themselves, and new ways to learn about themselves. I know my class would benefit from this material helping me to give them the option to have a cozy place to go and recognize their feeling and learn what to do with those feeling using material that can embrace their difficult moments and join back to activities recognizing what else can they do to feels better.

After the children suffered during Covid time many of them have a lot of difficulties expressing feelings and emotions, wearing a mask at all times it was very hard for them to express themselves and find a way to feel better. This Calm area will bring always an adult with them to help them understand and express feelings or just go and rest and breathe until they feel better.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
