This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am proud to say that I am 3rd grade teacher to some of the best students in Houston, TX! I teach at a Title I campus where many of my students are faced with obstacles and challenges that cause them to struggle both inside and outside of the classroom, yet they still persevere. My students are so full of energy and always eager to learn. They enter my classroom each day with the desire to expand their minds and explore the world of knowledge that exist around them.

My purpose is to continuously push them to strive for excellence and reach for the stars in spite of the circumstances that they may currently face.

Academic growth is our primary focus, so that they are motivated to reach their maximum potential.

I may not be able to change their current situation outside of our school doors but I can definitely establish a pleasant environment and an enriching learning experience throughout each day we have in class. I do this with the hopes that it will plant a seed in them that will one day blossom into a multitude of opportunities and success.

My Project

I believe that DynaMath will encourage my students to use critical thinking and problem solving skills, through engaging articles that include real world math connections. This resource will offer multiple learning opportunities for my students in math as well as other content areas such as; science, social studies, and of course reading. Although, my content focus is math, I believe that reading is a critical need for all subject areas.

In addition, DynaMath will provide differentiated instruction for my diverse learners.

Although the articles are paper based, this amazing resource offers interactive online lessons and activities for my visual and kinesthetic learners to engage in if they desire to.

I have also included white board accessories such as; erasers and storage containers for both hand-held whiteboards & markers. This will allow my students the opportunity to have academic challenges and debates within the classroom to encourage them to find text evidence and justify their work.

This is just a small sample of the benefits that DynaMath will contribute to my amazing Class of 2028!
