Multicultural Representation Matters in Special Ed Pre-K!

Help me give my students a classroom where they feel represented in the books we read, dolls and foods they play with and puzzles they work hard to put together.

My Project

In our special education classroom, playtime is used to enhance academics, but also for social emotional learning such as self-advocacy, self-worth, identity and emotional regulation.

There is value for even the youngest special education students to be able to see themselves (or their parent, sibling, friend) in the puzzles they build, dolls they play with and art supplies they use.

My students are smart, kind and hard-working. They all play valuable roles in the present and future of this planet. They deserve the best representation of themselves in their educational journey!
