Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I plan to use the following materials to help my students with dyslexia be successful in reading using multisensory tools. Research shows that students can master the alphabetic code using a multisensory approach to reading, writing and spelling.

My students are special not only because they have dyslexia, but because they are determined to become proficient in all of their literacy skills!

All the materials I am requesting will provide repeated practice and mastery! The foam phonics magnet set and table top dry erase board will be used as I dictate phonemes and they spell the words using the magnetic letters. Students will use the Elkonin boxes to segment sounds to create words. The Ticonderoga pencils, dry erase boards and Magna Doodle boards will help students when learning their cursive strokes and writing words. The index cards and sticky notes will be used for students to write, code and read multisyllabic words.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
