Students who are working below grade level often benefit from being able to see, touch, move, and manipulate information as they learn.\r\n\r\nWith the touchscreen, students practice skills by moving letters and sounds to build words, sorting words and pictures, highlighting text, solving math problems, using virtual manipulatives, and participating in interactive learning activities. It also allows me to quickly adjust activities based on each student's individual needs and provide immediate feedback.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the touchscreen helps increase student participation and confidence. Instead of simply watching or completing paper-and-pencil activities, students are actively involved in their learning. This makes our intervention time more meaningful and helps students strengthen foundational skills and work toward closing their learning gaps.","fullyFundedDate":1776087794869,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-students-through-interactive/10088996/","projectTitle":"Empowering Students Through Interactive Touchscreen Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kimbell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2339540_orig.png?crop=354,354,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750466495358","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2339540"},{"teacherId":2339540,"projectId":9909836,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of ink for our classroom printer. My students were definitely excited to have new games to play to review skills they have been working on.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the new math and reading games during our small-group intervention time. One moment that really stood out was during a 2nd grade reading intervention group. A student who normally feels hesitant about reading became completely absorbed in a phonics game. They were laughing, helping each other sound out words, and celebrating each small win. In math, students used the hands-on games to practice skills like number sense and fact fluency. I love how they are working together to encourage each other.\r\n\r\nWe're continuing our work on building foundational reading and math skills, and these games will now be part of their weekly review. In reading, students will use the games to reinforce phonics and decoding in a more engaging way. In math, they'll be engaged in games that help strengthen addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. \r\nThank you for investing in my students!","fullyFundedDate":1757515967197,"projectUrl":"project/small-group-skill-review-games/9425996/","projectTitle":"Small Group Skill Review Games!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kimbell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2339540_orig.png?crop=354,354,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750466495358","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2339540"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_24465","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":666,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":43,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":23,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":56,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.4,"schoolId":24465,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Highland Park Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Highland Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/pflugerville-independent-school-district/highland-park-elementary-school/24465"}
