My Project

My classroom is a third-grade, high ability classroom but we are also a very full classroom of 26 students and one teacher that loves to move around. With high ability comes some neurodivergence and the last thing a neurodivergent child needs is to sit a desk all day and have very little movement. I would like to add beanbags, wiggle stools, bounce balls, flexible floor seats and small dry erase boards. And since they will not have desks to store their books, students will need individual name labels to mark their items.

I want to give my students a chance to move but we are crammed in here with 26 desks and chairs.

My hope is that by having more seating options students can have their own little space each day that is comfortable and conducive to learning for even the most energetic student. This would give us more opportunities to both collaborate in small groups and work independently.
