Help me give my students 4 Chromebooks so they can go beyond the walls of our classroom for social studies, math, reading, writing, and to learn skills to succeed in the 21st century.
We are a very diverse school with 80% of our students on free and reduced price lunch meal plans. My students are curious, ready to learn, and creative. They need tools such as Chromebooks and the knowledge to use them in a productive way that they may not get at home. In my class they will get to practice and prepare for a world of forward moving technology.
My second-grade students are superheroes in their own right and every superhero needs access to amazing resources to change the world and make a difference.
I love how my students stay engaged, they love with all their hearts, they are super fun, funny, quick witted, and they truly want to learn.
My Project
Children these days are given a device before they are given a puzzle or coloring book. In my classroom, they will learn ways to use this technology and others in a safe and educational way that will draw them in and keep them engaged.
One of the best feelings is starting a story, from your own imagination, and watching that story grow and emerge into something amazing after proofing, editing, having a friend proof, editing, having your teacher proof, editing, typing it up, adding images and publishing it to share with all your loved ones!
I want to give the feeling of pride and ownership to my second-grade class. I also want to use these Chromebooks to enrich our reading and math centers. I would also use these as an added resource for English Language Learners and Special Needs students. So many different and amazing things I could do with four Chromebooks!
