This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are high achieving urban students who put academics first. They consistently score above average and know that hard work and dedication are the key to achieving greatness. They care deeply about their community and the arts. My students are the future leaders, musicians and artists of Oklahoma City and they deserve the best education possible to support their growth and development in today’s highly competitive world. Every child deserves the best that their community can offer them! Especially those that make education a priority.

My Project

This project is for books and curriculum to support my creative writing students. We will utilize passages from award winning books to study the ends and outs of creative writing. The $100 gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers will help me buy curriculum to teach poetry, prose, journal writing, storytelling and more!

Creative writing is an important aspect of literacy that often gets ignored in middle school, however, students need to find their voice now more than ever before!

These materials will help me help them express themselves in meaningful ways!
