My Students

I am a very proud teacher of some of the hardest working fifth grade students you could ever meet! The boys and girls in my inclusion classroom do not let their disabilities define them and are extremely accepting of each other's differences! Our school, B.E.S. is located in New York and houses students in grades PreK through five. We have a strong team of ENL, reading, and special education teachers working in most classrooms. Our school is an amazing example of how greatness is created when students and teachers work hard to make their school a wonderful place to be!

My Project

My students need wobble chairs to increase student focus. Several of my students have a diagnosis of ADHD and have difficulty focusing in straight back chairs. Wobble seats provide for small movements, while still serving as a comfortable (and safe) seating option. Marked improvement with attention to task has been shown with the flexible seating options I have added to our classroom, but several students are still in need of a seat that is just right for them! These wobble seats will assist my ten and eleven year old students with sitting for extended periods of time during instruction and testing. Flexible seating makes a tremendous difference in educational outcomes!
