Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more ."- Loris Malaguzzi
I teach in a Title I school where about 90% percent of my students are English Language Learners and come from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.
This is my first year teaching and I am very happy to be a kindgarten teacher. My main goal as an educator is to provide the best learning experience for all of my students.
My Project
I am requesting a snacks and water bottles to help my students refuel by having a snack during their afternoon recess, and not be distracted by hunger. Most of my parents have limited income and paying their rent and bills are more important than asking for snacks for the classroom.
By supporting this project and providing my class with snacks, you will be helping my students stave off hunger during the day, especially when they are in school all day.
These snacks will help all students to stay focused on learning and provide a little snack break when they need to refuel. My students complain about being hungry all the time. Satisfying hunger and taking care of their bodies has to happen before they can learn. Although my school provides a nutritious breakfast and lunch, my students are still hungry. This project will help my kids brains keep growing and working.
