This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students here at my high school are an amazing group of talented young people. My school is in a rural community without a ton of resources when it comes to technology. My kids are anxious to use technology in the classroom, but because of the limited supply they don't get a ton of hands-on activities outside of their computers. They are some of the most creative students and I have been around in my teaching career. They would flourish from more opportunities to use all kinds of different technologies.

My Project

This year on our campus, we launched a new audio/video production class. In it, we are teaching the kids how to shoot vairous types of video. One of the things that goes along with those learning how to shoot videos is learning how light the subjects that they are filming.

This moving light will give my students the experience using professional quality lighting that is used in the industry.

Many of our students do not have access to professional tools like this one, so it would be very beneficial for them to be able to use them in a learning environment.
