Being in the Career and Technology Department, many times there are projects that I would love to do with my students that we just simply aren't able to do because we do not have the technology to complete these tasks in the classroom. It is extremely difficult to get real hands on experience if my students have nothing to put their hands on. These tools will allow them to capture their work and creativity in new and exciting ways in my class. One of the projects we did at the beginning of the year required the students to submit pictures of themselves to tell about who they were and what they wanted to be. Even in the age of the smart phone, many students still don't have access to high quality pictures and video. With the camera and accessories, every student, regardless of socioeconomic background would have the exact same ability to create and produce very high quality work. Another item that we need are lavalier microphones that plug directly into the camera. There are two different system, one that is just a single microphone which will be used for students doing projects in which just one person at a time needs to be recorded. The other is a dual microphone set that is used for audio recording of multiple people at the same time instead of using the camera's internal microphone which produces very low quality sound. We also need the smart phone adapter/tripod because many students still use their smart phones to capture videos and pictures. The issue, especially when shooting video, is that the camera is always moving, thus rendering a very shaky video which is almost always unusable. this tripod has a universal mount which work for almost all smart phones so they can be mounted.
