My Students

The students of our school have some amazing talents, but the last few years have been a real challenge for them. Some of our students have returned to in-person learning with more anxiety and stress than they can handle on a regular basis.

They are working on regulating themselves, but we need some tools to help them work through their challenges.

Physical activity, mental mindfulness and adult support will help them work through their challenges.

My Project

Regulation and focus look differently in different students. From athletics to academics, the ability to focus and know the next step is important for everyone. Having the ability to slow down, plan the next action and then make it happen is important. Having the practice of different situations makes it easier as well.

Sometimes students need to be challenged in different ways, learning how to balance and focus independently is important for my kids.

Be it to keep them from stepping out of bounds on the basketball court to recognizing when to focus in class, students learn how to balance. This project requests balancing stones so we can practice thinking about our next steps.

I'm also requesting some pads for boxing. Some of our students need the physical and muscular input that action can bring, so having them able to put on some of the gloves that we already have and swing away helps them process some of their anxiety.
