Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students inspire me with their energetic interest in possibilities. I see their endless potential and thus believe they are a hope and a wish for a bright future. It is up to me and my colleagues to find ways to maintain their interests, spark their imaginations and harness this potential to help mold the future generations of this world.
At this age, so much is changing; their lives, their minds, their education.
And, even though this change is daunting and seemingly endless, many of them greet each day, ready to accept the challenge that lies before them; another mark of their potential.
What is most inspiring about these students is their circumstance. I teach in a Title I school with a wide variety of languages, ethnicity and home-life situations. Yet, my students keep going. They keep coming to school, trying their best and giving it their all in the hopes that one day, despite whatever odds may be against them, they will tap into that potential, use what we have taught them and become the future generation all educators aspire to cultivate.
My Project
A classroom with bare walls can be uninspiring. A classroom with aging posters can seem lackluster. But, a classroom with new, decorative posters can be both motivating and comforting. Couple this with an interactive trivia bulletin board where students can submit answers and win prizes, you've got a fun classroom happening!
Having modern motivational posters and selection of prizes for our cluster trivia board will help to motivate my students and increase their participation in my class and their involvement in school activities.
Student buy in is a huge part of finding academic and social success in school. These supplies will help me to get my students involved and interested in the many activities we facilitate throughout the year.
