Having basic supplies, such as chart paper and markers can make a huge difference a child's day to day classroom life. Not only do these materials help students to show what they know, they also help them to show their learning in fun and colorful ways. Often students will WANT to write their answers down, nice and large for the class to see, when they get to use the special markers and sticky paper pad. Combine this with a presentation remote and we have one productive, well-running classroom! There's an element of pride that comes from using the right materials for the job. Having these supplies on hand would help me to provide that opportunity for pride to my students on a regular basis and will help them to engage in the topic at hand. All in all, basic supplies keep a classroom running, and having the right supplies helps it run even better.
