My Students

I am an Occupational Therapist working with a variety of students from preschool through 9th grade. I get to see students in 7 different schools each week. I work with students with fine motor delays, autism, development delays, cerebral palsy, brain injury, Down Syndrome, sensory processing disorder, and other diagnoses.

Due to the pandemic we have seen a dramatic increase in the number of referrals for students preschool through 3rd grade.

The majority of these new referrals qualify for services due to significant delays. These students have missed opportunities to develop and learn fundamental motor skills due to decreased time in school.

My Project

The supplies I am requesting will go towards helping students who have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

The students need to be engaged in activities that will promote fine motor development to improve their ability to participate in the classroom curriculum.

By donating these materials, it will expand the variety of activities I am able to present to students in areas that interest them. The students will remain engaged and will be able to develop their fine motor skills and gain self confidence in their abilities. My students find joy and pride in simple activities like matching colors, sorting shapes, holding a pencil, writing their name, etc. My students are full of potential, they just need extra help and support to get there.
