Motivate and Engage Students to Get Caught Reading!

Help me give my students engaging books and sensory items as "prizes" for our GET CAUGHT READING initiative. Names are drawn twice a month!

My Project

Our PreK-5 student body is encouraged to read any chance they get! Our GET CAUGHT READING initiative promotes reading for interest and enjoyment. Our entire staff are given tickets to distribute when they catch students reading as a choice.

Students are encouraged to GET CAUGHT READING on our daily announcements and on our school news channel (The Cheetah Channel).

The Cheetah Channel hosts our librarian once a week as well. She shares current entertaining and engaging literature with our students. Students are encouraged to apply to join the librarian and share their favorite books.

The books and sensory items requested will populate our prize bin for our twice monthly drawings. Awarding books and sensory items supports our academic and behavioral programming. We have been giving out books that we have here in school, but would like students to have more current, diverse, and NEW books to choose from!
