My Project

My students love manga and often enjoy reading books that are related to their favorite series, which can be a valuable hook into the joy of reading for students who don't think of books as being fun. When reading feels like work, it's hard for kids to get excited about it, but with manga many of our most reluctant readers can get into it.

Our school is situated about a mile from the nearest public library, with a highway between us and the nearest bookstore.

Our school library is often the only source of new reading material for students, so having high interest titles not only helps them grow as readers, it allows them to develop their own interests and tastes!
