Moore, OK Needs Mini I-pads for Small Group Interventions!
My students need 2 iPad Minis, 2 protective covers, and an iPad keyboard with cover to bring technology to our classroom and enhance small and whole group learning.
Technology is the future. It is important that students are integrating technology in their every day learning - even in first grade. The iPad Minis will not only expose my students to technology in the classroom, but it will enhance their learning in many areas including small and whole group time.
My students are bright, eager kids who have a natural love for learning.
While our school provides many resources, we do not have access to very much technology in the primary grades. The iPad Minis will provide the students with something hands-on that will drive their instruction on an individual level and as a whole group. The keyboard and case are for my iPad. I use it during small group for individualized student notes while they read. I have four kids per group. It is difficult for my students to see the iPad starting over each other. With two iPad minis and my iPad small groups will be more efficient and relaxing providing for a better learning environment.
My Project
The iPad minis will be used during our Daily 5 literacy block in which students can work on early literacy skills, identifying sight words, and creating digital stories. The students can also practice problem solving and math facts during math centers. The iPad minis will be used in our whole group lessons and be split among the different table groups in the class to practice skills. The iPad minis can also be utilized for individual students to provide them with differentiated instruction through various tasks and apps that will help them with the specific skills they need extra practice with. It will also be used during small group allowing access to online materials for reading groups.
I believe the iPad Minis will provide my students with direct experience with current technology.
They will be able to focus on academics, but also have fun doing it. I will be able to differentiate instruction in my classroom by providing individual students with the apps/learning games at their level and interest. My students will be able to improve their reading, writing, and mathematics. Please help my students gain access to the iPad Minis a wonderful learning tool.
